ECOLABELS AND CERTIFICATIONS

AT HOUE

We are determined to taking the right steps in creating furniture that is increasingly responsible, considering both the social and environmental impact of everything we do.

Consequently, we base our decisions on facts and thorough documentation, and the EU Ecolabel has become our framework for creating more sustainable furniture.

EU ECOLABEL

The EU Ecolabel is a mark of environmental excellence awarded to products that meet high environmental standards throughout their life cycle, from raw materials and production to the use phase and disposal. Products are designed for disassembly to ensure the repairability and recyclability of individual materials. They are constructed and tested according to EN-standards to ensure durability and must come with a five-year warranty.

WOOD

FSC™

FSC certification is a globally recognized standard that verifies wood and wood-based products come from responsibly managed forests and supply chains, in line with the Forest Stewardship Council’s requirements for environmental protection, social responsibility, and economic sustainability. It helps safeguard forests, promotes sustainable harvesting, and ensures full traceability from forest to final product, so the FSC label confirms that the timber originates from approved and responsibly managed sources.

TEXTILES

EU ECOLABEL

is the official environmental quality mark of the European Union, awarded to products and services with reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle. It is a voluntary, third-party verified, ISO 14024 Type I ecolabel, based on strict, science-based criteria covering hazardous substances, energy and water use, waste, durability, and recyclability. The label identifies only the top-performing products in their category for environmental performance.

OEKO-TEX

is a testing and certification system for textiles that verifies products are free from harmful substances.

It evaluates raw materials and finished textiles for prohibited and hazardous chemicals according to standards such as OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The certification aims to protect consumers by enforcing strict limits on chemicals used in textile production.

WE PROUDLY USE TEXTILES CERTIFIED
GREENGUARD

is a third-party certification program that ensures products contribute to healthier indoor air quality.

It assesses materials and finished goods for low chemical emissions, including volatile organic compounds, against strict criteria. Products that are certified are verified as suitable for indoor environments with reduced pollutant exposure.
