INTRODUCTION

It is important to HOUE to protect and respect personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2016/679) and the Danish Data Protection Act, both of which entered into force on 25 May 2018.

This Personal Data Protection Statement explains when and why we collect personal data, how we use it, under what circumstances we may disclose it to others, and how we keep it secure. This Personal Data Protection Statement applies to the use of our products as well as to our activities related to sales, marketing, and the performance of customer contracts. It also applies to individuals who apply for jobs with HOUE.

WHEN DOES HOUE COLLECT PERSONAL DATA?

HOUE collects and processes personal data about you when you:

  • Interact with us in person, through correspondence, by phone, email, social media, trade shows, by providing your business card, submitting a job application, or contacting us through our website.
  • Request a price list, a quote, or place an order.
  • Use our services on the website houe.com
  • When we collect personal data from, for example, social networks. We only use such data if you have given your consent to share your personal data with others.

 

WHY DOES HOUE COLLECT AND USE PERSONAL DATA?

We collect and use your personal data for direct sales, direct marketing, and customer service purposes. We also collect information about suppliers, partners, and individuals who apply for jobs or work at our company.

We may use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To send you marketing materials that you have requested. These may include information about our products, events, activities, and campaigns. Such communications require your consent and you may unsubscribe at any time.
  • To send you information about products you have purchased from us.
  • To carry out direct sales activities where a lawful and mutual interest has been established.
  • To respond to a “Contact Me” form or other web forms you have completed on houe.com.
  • To follow up on incoming inquiries (customer support, emails, chat, or phone calls).
  • To fulfill contractual obligations such as quotes, order confirmations, invoices, reminders, and similar communications. The contract may be entered into directly with HOUE or with a HOUE partner.
  • To contact you to conduct surveys regarding your opinion of our products and services.
  • To process a job application.

HOUE collects only the personal data necessary (e.g., email address or private address) to provide the service requested by the user.

The registration of personal data and personally identifiable information is necessary to analyze how users use HOUE’s website.


USE OF SUB-PROCESSORS (PROCESSORS AND SUBPROCESSORS)

We may use sub-processors to process personal data on our behalf. We are responsible for ensuring that such sub-processors agree to comply with this Personal Data Policy and applicable data protection laws by signing a Data Processing Agreement.

If a sub-processor processes personal data outside the EU/EEA, such processing must comply with the EU Privacy Shield Framework, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to third countries, or another specifically defined lawful basis for transferring personal data to a third country.

HOUE uses software for distributing newsletters and for behavior analysis. The software providers we work with are subject to the EU Privacy Shield Framework.



COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA BASED ON CONTRACTS

HOUE uses personal data to fulfill our obligations under contracts and agreements with employees, customers, partners, and suppliers.





COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA BASED ON LEGITIMATE INTERESTS

We may use your personal data where this is considered to be in our legitimate interests and where such interests are not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject. To establish a lawful basis for data collection, an assessment will normally have been carried out confirming that a mutual interest exists between HOUE and the individual.

This legal basis is primarily related to our sales and marketing activities. We will always inform individuals of the purpose for collecting personal data.



WHAT TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA ARE COLLECTED?

The data we collect about you are:

  • Your name, job title, phone number, and email address, in addition to your  company name and contact details. We may also collect feedback, comments, and questions received from you in communications related to activities such as trade shows, meetings, phone calls, documents, and emails.
  • If you upload photos or videos, add posts, comments, or similar content via our email, Facebook profile, or similar platforms, the information may be accessible to anyone with access. Therefore, HOUE is not responsible for information you choose to submit.
  • If you apply for a job with HOUE, we collect the information you provide in connection with your application (see separate policy on Recruitment and Data protection) 

HOUE does not collect or process special categories of personal data (such as sensitive personal data) without prior consent.


HOW LONG DOES HOUE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

HOUE retains personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the personal data were collected. We also consider our need to respond to your inquiries or requests, resolve issues, comply with legal requirements under applicable law, address potential legal claims or complaints, and maintain security.

This means we may retain your personal data for a reasonable period after your last interaction with us. When personal data are no longer necessary, they are securely deleted.


YOUR RIGHTS

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to request a copy of the personal data HOUE holds about you.
  • The right to request that HOUE correct your personal data if they are inaccurate or outdated.
  • The right to request that your personal data be deleted when it is no longer necessary for HOUE to retain such data.
  • The right to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time, for example your consent to receive electronic marketing materials:

    • If you wish to withdraw your consent to other electronic marketing, please contact HOUE at info@houe.com. Please note that you may still receive administrative communications from HOUE, such as order confirmations and notifications related to your account activity.
